The intergalactic highway
The Zeiss-Großplanetarium was first open to the public in 1987 at Prenzlauer Berg as part of the 750th anniversary celebrations of the former GDR. The planetarium is now under the direction of the Land Berlin, as is the Archenhold-Sternwarte. In the foyer is a range of temporary exhibitions, plus a cafeteria serves up warm drinks and snacks. The most recent film releases are screened in the cinema, though these are superseded by the main attraction of the planetarium theatre with its star projector. So, fasten your seatbelts for the next galaxy!
