The science of things
This museum fits perfectly the double superlative: "biggest and most visited". No other construction museum in the world covers as much floor space as this Munich-based one, nor can any other boast as extensive a collection of objects and artefacts. Certainly, there is not another museum in all of Germany that sees one and a half million visitors per year through its doors. The exhibitions here chart the development of the physical and natural sciences, from Antiquity right up to the technical revolution that we are seeing today. The content of the displays is as targeted as much at the general public as the already-knowledgeable. Also on offer are one or two more playful, interactive introductions to modern-day science, including subjects that once seemed inaccessible to the public at large.
