The only museum of its kind in the whole world, and one dedicated to antiques and verifying the authenticity of coins. It also includes a scientific laboratory, equipped with the latest technology for verifying and dating artistic artefacts. The main types are then taken to the 'test station', where genuine articles can be distinguished from fakes with a simple test. The exhibition is laid out over twelve rooms and includes 1000 objects. The museum was opened in 1990 by the Matthaes Foundation.
