Münzkabinett

The museum houses an almost unique collection of 500,000 items that bear witness to the empirical wealth and early stages of coin-minting in Asia Minor during the 7th century BC. The museum relates the story of medals and coins up to the 20th century. The exhibition rooms, the library and the study room are located in the Bodemuseum and are closed due to transformation work. However, you can still visit the exhibition and admire its 1700 antique items at the Pergame Museum. The other exhibitions are located in the Altes Museum and at the Proto et Préhistoire Museum.
