Kunstgewerbemuseum

The Kulturforum has on display a number of exhibitions and works of art deco, dating from the Middle Ages up to the present day. The building was designed and built in 1967 by Rolf Gutbrod. Since 1985, it has belonged to the museum forum. The exhibition centres are highly treasured, and include Middle Age examples of gold and silver plating and pieces from the cathedral of Bâle. Just as well documented is the history and development of glass and porcelain from the 18th to 20th centuries, and the evolution of contemporary design.
