The residence of the Savoy family in Turin.
The Royal Palace was constructed over the course of the 17th century in place of the former Palazzo del Vescovo. A number of architects and artists, both from and outside Italy, participated in its construction. The Palace was the royal residence for the State of Savoy and kings of Italy between the 17th and 19th centuries. It comprises a series of reception rooms and apartments for members of the royal family, and is always open to the public.
