I Giardini del Pincio

This hill was once the spot for the villas of famous Roman families, including the Pinci, which goes to explain the name. It then became a public park on the orders of Napoleon, work for which was carried out by Valadier from 1811 to 1814. Here you'll have the chance to marvel at the obelisk commissioned by Adrien for his favourite Antinoo, plus the busts of leading Italian personalities, the Horloge Fountain and the small Maison Valadier, a restaurant in which Ghandi, Mussolini and King Farouk of Egypt once dined. Above all else, though, you'll be able to take in the magnificent sunsets from the Napoleon I Esplanade.
