A Roman residence for a German poet and novelist
Johann Wolfgang Goethe lived in Rome from 1786 to 1788. This stay, which he described as the most pleasurable part of his life, provided inspiration for his 'Roman Elegies'.
The building currently houses a series of displays, and is also the venue for conferences, lectures, concerts and film projections. Guided tours are also conducted for school parties.
