Frauenkirche

The towers of the Notre-Dame dome, with their resplendent green ‘welchen’ tops, are very much in the picture postcard style and are one of Munich’s most photographed sights. This magnificent, early-Renaissance building is also one of the most important churches in the whole city, and is home to a number of historical and art treasures in the side chapels and chancels. You may want to stop by the tomb of Louis of Bavaria who became Roman Emperor. This individual was also a sworn enemy of the Pope, for which he was subjected to many wrongs. You may also wish to visit the south tower (open to the public from April to October, except on Sundays, from 10 am to 5 pm), and see what the inside of this picture postcard construction holds.
