A baroque building
It was the Jail of the Court until 1846 and is currently the site of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since 1901. Built between 1629 and 1634 under the orders of the Italian architect Juan Bautista Crescendi, the place had a few illustrious 'guests', such as the poets Lope de Vega or Espronceda. It is one of the most beautiful baroque buildings in Madrid.
