Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz

The Mendelsohn building on Lehniner Platz has been stamped with the name of Peter Stein for decades. Although the theatre here was one of the most highly reputed in 1970s/80s Germany, it seems to have lapsed into a rather quiet existance since then, only to be enlivened occasionally by Yasmina Reza's brilliant productions, such as "Kunst". Since January however, there has been a wind of change blowing over the theatre...the Thomas Ostermeier and Sasha Waltz theatre company seem to be bringing a fresh wave of success to Lehniner Platz.
