Cheval Marin

Built on the tight corner of the Quai aux Briques and Rue du Marché aux Porcs, the Cheval Marin leaves no passer-by indifferent. This strange, Flemish renaissance-style building was the harbour master's office before becoming an inn. Even in it's current, empty state is has retained the majestic feel of the old buildings. The red bricks, the coloured windows and the seahorse sign have made this a remarkable monument, which one hopes will never face the threat of destruction.
