Gendarmenmarkt

This square, located between the Französische Strasse and the Mohrenstrasse, is one of the most beautiful in the city with its French and German churches. The steeples of these two churches, designed by Gontard in 1780, had become symbols of the city but were completely destroyed by fire in 1944. From the balustrade of the steeple in the French church you get a magnificent view of the city.
