Right in the heart of the gothic quarter, this historical plaza is the city's governmental centre: the Palau de la Generalitat and the City Hall are situated here. Both are 15th century buildings that were later refurbished. Take a minute to contemplate the striking relief of Sant Jordi, patron saint of Catalonia, in the lateral façade of the Palau. It was made as early as 1418, by Pere Johan.
